Working for Cathedral
Cathedral Academy is due to formally transfer to Trinity Multi-Academy Trust in January 2018. We have been supported by the trust since September 2016, and have benefitted from the experience, support and successful practices that have been developed in the flagship school; Trinity Academy Halifax.
Through partnership and collaboration with the CEO and other trust leaders, Cathedral Academy has been on a journey of rapid improvement. We have embedded systems and structures and with the support of the team behind the success at Trinity Halifax have been able to demonstrate successes in improving the outcomes for young people.
Cathedral Academy’s leadership team is focussed on provision for 11-16 year olds and through implementing robust, clear systems and support, teachers are able to focus on developing their teaching. The vision is to transform education at Cathedral Academy, with the intention of providing an outstanding education to students. This is a realistic and achievable goal, which has been shown through our recent outcomes.
In 2017 we demonstrated rapid progress from the previous year with improvements in the attainment of six different subject areas including Maths which jumped up by 10%, History improving by 31% and Geography by 17%. These areas added to several other traditionally successful subjects to combine to make progress across the school a major achievement. The subsequent progress 8 score stands at +0.47, showing a vast improvement on the previous year and demonstrating a significant step forward for the academy.
We are excited to join a growing trust, as this gives our staff the benefit of professional development and leadership opportunities. The academy is growing, both in student numbers and reputation which presents opportunities for professional development and career progression. We can offer staff the opportunity to work on a range of innovative projects, confident in the support that an outstanding leadership team can provide.
Our CPD package replicates that of the flagship school, and through investment in a weekly CPD programme, led by outstanding and experienced practitioners, we are able to offer a programme that is delivered as a whole academy, or in curriculum areas and is an invaluable opportunity for whole academy development or tailored sessions relevant to curriculum area needs.
As the trust expands and more schools join, there will be development opportunities to accelerate career progression and build leadership skills, whilst contributing to the trust’s vision of improving education for all students.
You must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to transform the outcomes for children and young people, secure in the knowledge that you will be joining an ambitious forward-thinking Academy Trust that sets the standards for our family of schools and academies.
